What is Ashen?

Ashen is the text-gamification of my dream game. Despite having a fairly clear mental image and a design document, I recognized that I simply didn’t have the skillset to make Ashen what I saw in my head. So, instead, I tried to make it the only way I knew how -- through writing. 

Ashen is a writing exercise first, and a game design exercise second. Certain design choices were made with this distinction in mind.
